When Your Feet Remember
Trauma doesn’t live only in our stories. It lives in our posture, our breath, our nervous system, and often quietly, in our feet.
Over decades of hands-on healing work, I began noticing something profound – our bodies remember old wounds and patterns. They keep the score. Patterns repeat, symptoms linger and despite insight or talk therapy, something deeper continues to call for attention.
This is how Embodied Reflexology was born. A client of mine was experiencing unbearable itching all over his body. He had gone the usual medical route but found no relief, and none of the doctors had an answer. I took him though a transformative process combining reflexology with a guided inner journey – what I call the ‘mind’s eye.’
As I worked on his feet, images, sensations, emotions and memories began to surface. After just one session the rash left his body. We had journeyed into the very source of his pain.
During a session I draw on Family Constellations and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to tap into unresolved grief, generational entanglements and unprocessed trauma. Feelings that are left unprocessed are gently revealed and an opportunity for deep inner wisdom to guide the unspoken.
This is not a ‘fixing’ modality. This is a particular approach to healing aligned with experience and deep understanding.
Embodied Reflexology creates:
- safety in the nervous system
- Allows the body to express what it is ready to release
- Integrates physical touch with emotional and systemic awareness
- Supports deep regulation, clarity and grounding.
Clients often report feeling a sense of relief, emotional lightness, deeper breath, clarity and reconnection to themselves.
Embodied reflexology may be especially supportive if you:
- Carry chronic tension, fatigue and unexplained physical symptoms
- Feel emotionally stuck despite personal growth work
- Sense you are carrying more than just your own story.
- Are ready for healing that honours both body and soul.
A RETURN TO WHOLENESS
Healing doesn’t always come from understanding more. Sometimes it comes from remembering differently – through the body, with compassion and in the right order.
Embodied reflexology is an invitation to come home to yourself, gently, safely and with respect for every experience that shaped you.
