It’s been a long time since I last visited Johannesburg. Being transported from the quiet of Pringle Bay to the chaos of this mega city, has forced me to look at the beauty instead of the chaos I see all around me. When I step outside the confines of this gated estate I notice birds skirting along the top edges of the trees. Autumn has arrived as golden leaves fall on to the well-kept driveway.

Stepping out of this safe space is daunting. You are faced with decay, chaos and desperation amidst the chic glitz and glamour of massive shopping malls. Yet, something deeper stirs. An adrenalin rush and a need to step lightly but stay fully alert with all senses open to defend.

As we enter the season of autumn and notice how the mornings are becoming cooler and the leaves changing colour, we are asked to let go of what no longer serves us. Instead to spend some time within finding balance and healing as winter approaches.

Today’s invitation is to look up and notice the indescribable beauty all around you.
