There are several key ideas we will work with when we learn Kahuna massage. These principles underly all we do and the focus we bring to our work and lives. Each day we can choose one principle to be our focus. This week, my principle is:

Kala – there are no limits.

Kala means to embrace a universe where there are no limits. We are intimately connected to everything in existence. Every thought produces an effect at some level. When we judge others, we are asking to be judged. When we see the beauty in others, we invite the same beauty into our own lives.

In relationships, you relate to yourself through your partner. Therefore, every curse or blessing you give returns to you, because we are One. We are the giver, receiver and that which is given, all in this sacred moment.

Each moment we offer healing to the other it is returned to us.

The 7 Kahuna Principles

Ike:    The World is What You Think it is. If you truly love another, you will strive to understand their point of view instead of criticising them. According to the principle of Ike, you must bless another’s contrasting viewpoint if you want yours to be accepted at all or blessed in return.

Kala:  There are no limits. The Universe is limitless, and anything is possible in the infinite field of possibilities.

Makia:  Energy Flows Where Your Attention Goes.  We get what we focus on, so it is wise to look closely at the object of our focus.

Manawa:  Now Is the Moment of Power.  How many live in the moment and appreciate its beauty and grace?

Aloha:  To love is to be Happy With.  In Huna, this idea encompasses the power of blessing and the practice of true acceptance. The more you can remove judgment from your thinking, the more love will flow in your life.

Love is the greatest power. The more we share this power, the more we become attuned to its presence.

Mana: All Power Comes From Within reminds us that things only have power over us to the degree that we give them power. Claim your power; own it instead of giving it away to others.

Pono.  Effectiveness is the Measure of Truth. If something is not giving you the results you want, then change your approach. Learning to “let and go and let God” is a powerful way to get help from a Higher Source.

If you truly surrender, remembering that all power comes from within, you will find a new idea, meet a new person or find a different approach to your problem.

Here’s to living a life of gratitude.
